Well, there are two reasons:
First, to further exercise more features of BML (starting of external
proceses, real-time interaction with other processes running concurrently,
file handling, etc.).
Second, ScreamerNet II, from what I have observed (and somebody please
correct me if I'm wrong here), seems to require a real-time feed of commands.
In other words, you cannot simply pass SNII a file with a series of commands
in it, like:
init
load example.lws
render 1 1 1
quit
SNII will continually read the first line of the "job" file over and over
(in this case, it will sit and spin on "init"). This requires that SNII be
"driven" by issuing a command, waiting for it to complete, and then issuing
another command. I could be wrong (it's not like I haven't been before =|^).
But my test with a multiple-command job file seemed to exhibit the behavior
I observed above.
